My Story

As you know my name is Julie, I am 22 years old. Right now I work full time for a medical company, I am also a full time Respiratory Student. My life is very busy and my weight problem does not help. I have dieted all my life and lost a few pounds here and there, but always gained it back. In August of 2003, I began my own diet. Not Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Atkins, or any other big named diets. I weighed in at 256 lbs. How Awful!! For once in my life I have finally changed my whole thought on dieting and I am having much success at it. Read my story !!!!

Some History About Me

As a child I grew up with my mom and dad, both being overweight and also had an overweight brother. It seemed the chances of me being fat was my destiny. My dad had to have meat and potatoes every night and therefore I was raised with a big appetite as well. I can remember in junior highschool weighing 165 lbs. In highschool, things got very hard for me. I had hit 185 lbs. WOW!!! It depressed me and by the time I hit college I was 195 lbs. And from that time on I have never seen 195 since. I joined a healthclub in 1997, my junior year of highschool and managed to lose 30 lbs, but gained it all back again. As the years have gone on, yes I've tried Richard Simmons, Slim Fast, and others, but nothing as worked for me.

**** HOW I CHANGED MY LIFE ????*******

Well thats simple, I just realized that I needed to do something to get healthy or I'd be in big trouble. I started this diet plan in August 2003 weighing in at 256 lbs , I have lost the 1st 40 lbs......YEAH!!!!!!!...........

The first 50 lbs were actually pretty easy, I started limiting myself, I went from eating out 4 times a week to 2 times a week. I started walking 20 minutes a day and starting using exercise tapes....... I also changed my way of eating to all low fat, low cal foods.

SAMPLE MENU

Breakfast          coffee/ non fat creamer/ equal .......english muffin w/jelly.

Lunch               orange.....carrots w/low fat dressing as dip ..... 10 pretzels 

Supper             Salad w/ grilled chicken......plate of broccoli

****** Mix up your fruits and veggies***** have popcorn and pretzels as small snacks***lowfat granola bars*****flavored rice cakes ......

These are the things helping me, but now things are getting harder, so I have reduced calories to 1500 a day, so I will post my weekly weigh ins here for you..........      GOAL WEIGHT BY January 1, 2005 175 lbs!!!!
